"Imagine being told: You are just a girl. When you are dissing misses, you are dismissing half the world," says one of the top 8 contestants of Queens of Comedy.
The show first aired on 24th September 2017. With its first episode Pilot, it took a ride straight to my heart, and I have been eagerly waiting for its next installment. Comedians on the show talked about everything from female anatomy to mocking their genitalia and the right to who can have access to it. The show wrapped up in nine episodes, and Niveditha Prakasam got the opportunity to add a feather to her cap by winning it.
Hold your breath and welcome those women who took comedy to another level, who are anything but quirky, badass, smart, sarcastic and will make you laugh till your stomach starts to hurt.
Saadiya Ali
The 25-year-old comedian from Chennai was the first one to take the stage. From female anatomy to her relatable piece of singledom, Saadiya was relatable AF and I couldn't stop denying to anything that she said.
Anshita Koul
Anshita is a 30-year-old Kashmiri girl who spends her time shuttling between India and Germany. She talked about living away from family and the crazy conversations that all of them have over the phone.
Urooj Ashfaq
Urooj opened her piece by sharing the importance of audience. She moved ahead with the fact that how non-violent protests would have been a great flop if there were no audiences. She also had a dig at Gandhi's way of protesting and mind you, no one was offended by it.
Dwijal Mehta
This 26-year-old comedian from Mumbai introduced herself when she talked about marriages, annoying pre-wedding shoots and bachelor parties that take place in Malad.
Niveditha Prakasam
Niveditha says that she is lost in her life but not with her punch lines. Since she is a former vehicle engineer, she talked about travelling and busses. From invading privacy to love at first, she practically covered everything that can happen with all of us in public transports. I liked how she ended her sketch with a very unexpected flip.
Jhansi Dramaqueen
Jhansi is 21 and tries to impersonate her father who is 60. She sings, dances, tries to be funny and thinks that there's nothing politically incorrect in doing all of it together. From cow protection to emojis, she talks about the future country India might just be.
Ayushi Jagad
Ayushi is from Pune, and this 25-year-old comedian speaks on dating, being judgemental and worrying about one's body image. From lingerie to the gym, Ayushi never failed to make me giggle and enjoy her script.
Surbhi Bagga
A 24-year-old from Ghaziabad talked about how she thinks of herself and her friends as TV serials.
